Marcos Puiggari, DVM

Marcos Puiggari & ChuckDr. Puiggari is the principal veterinarian and owner of Alpine Veterinary Care. Marcos grew up in Oklahoma and has been a practicing veterinarian since 1988. He worked in Indiana before moving to Santa Fe, NM where he primarily worked as an emergency veterinarian, eventually becoming the Director of the Santa Fe Animal Emergency Center for over 10 years. Marcos loved doing emergency work and being able to ferret out complex diagnostic issues and performing complex surgeries.

Dr. Puiggari and his wife moved to Missoula Montana in order to raise a family. After moving to Missoula he worked as the Director of the Animal Emergency and then as an emergency veterinarian commuting to Ogden Utah. When the opportunity arose, Dr. Puiggari was able to assume ownership of Alpine Veterinary Care in 2011.

He enjoys interacting with his clients; both human and animal. Dr. Puiggari is dedicated to providing the best quality veterinary care possible, with skill and compassion to all animals and to helping their guardians achieve the best quality of life possible for their pets.

 

Heidi Hagen, DVM

Heidi Hagen, DVMDr. Hagen joined the team at Alpine Veterinary Care as a 2013 graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is thrilled to return to her home state of Montana to practice and is excited to be serving the needs of the Missoula pet loving community.

Heidi grew up in the Flathead Valley. She fell in love with Missoula during her undergraduate years and she and her husband are looking forward to many happy years in the Missoula community.

Heidi has been interested in veterinary medicine since childhood and loves connecting with owners and their pet families. She has a particular interest in pain management and is certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture. She is passionate about providing top notch medical care and a great quality of life for her patients2.

 

Carmen Coots, DVM

Dr. Carmen Coots joined Alpine Vet in August 2019 after 21 years practicing veterinary medicine all over the country. She grew up in Morris, IL and Honolulu, HI, and attended veterinary school at the University of Illinois. She and her husband, Brad, and two kids, Callum and Gigi, are very happy to be settled in Missoula and to take part in all the region has to offer. When not at the clinic, you may find Carmen swimming in various pools and lakes, hiking with her family and Newfoundland named Dude, or skiing.

 

 Lindsey McKelvie, DVM

Dr. Lindsey McKelvie joined Alpine in September 2023 after living in The Netherlands for the past 3 years. Dr. Lindsey and her family chose Missoula to establish roots after her husband concluded his 21 years of service in the Navy. They are excited to finally live close to family, be back in the mountains, and not have to move again for a long time!

She attended vet school at Kansas State University and has practiced in the Midwest and East coast since graduating. Lindsey grew up participating in 4-H raising pigs and sheep and has always wanted to be a veterinarian.

When not at work, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family, reading, skiing, and hopes to one day be an excellent fly fisherwoman!
